Dr. Luis Suarez, Director of the Social Community program of AKBS received last week Dr. Luis Almagro, Secretary-General of the Organization of American States. OAS or OEA is an international organization representing member states that was founded in 1948. It was the first entity to adopt a Human Rights instrument.
During the visit of Dr. Almagro, The City of North Miami Beach was honored to receive him. Mayor Anthony DeFillipo opened the doors of the City by providing the Key to the City, not only as a welcome but a symbol of honor and appreciation for the contributions Dr. Almagro has made towards economic, social and cultural development. His advocacy for democracy and the goal to eradicate extreme poverty, which constitutes an obstacle to full democratic development.
