After exhausting an interesting schedule in the Bahamas, the midshipmen of the International Instruction Cruise Fall 2021 was received in Miami, Florida with a traditional ceremony by the authorities.

On the cruise that departed from the Dominican Republic on November 1 and is scheduled to return to the country on Saturday the 20th, the midshipmen have had the opportunity to execute the knowledge acquired in the classrooms of the Vice Admiral César de Windt Lavandier Naval Academy.

During the tour of the Bahamas and the United States aboard the High Patrol Vessel Almirante Didiez Burgos PA-301 and the School Ship Almirante Juan Bautista Cambiaso BE-01, the midshipmen, Guest cadets, and the crew in general, have developed the work of exalting Dominican culture and national symbols.

Present at the reception ceremony were the Commissioner of Miami Dade, Mr. Pepe Díaz, the Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Miami, Mr. Jacobo Fernández, Consul General of Colombia in Miami Pedro Agustin Valencia, Consul General of Brazil in Miami Leonardo Rapelo, Ambassador Luis Suarez Hermandez, Coast Guard 7th District Commander Rear Admiral Brendan McPerson, US Southern Command Chief of Operations, US Rear Admiral Andrews Tiongson, Miami Airport Protocol Chief U Desmond Alufohai as well as also representatives of diplomatic missions, and a worthy representation of the Dominican diaspora in Florida.

Vice Admiral Ramón Gustavo Betances Hernández, commanding general of the Dominican Republic Navy who was accompanied by his distinguished wife Joseline Vásquez de Betances, received the distinction of distinguished visitor and the symbolic key of Miami Dade County, representing the Navy and of all the participating crew members of the cruise.
