Warmest congratulations to H.E. Prof. Sir Manuel Freire-Garabal y Núñez for receiving the official appointment of Arkansas Traveler, making him an official ambassador of the State of Arkansas.

Prof. Sir Manuel was appointed with the Arkansas Traveler by official State appointment from the Governor of Arkansas and the Secretary of State.

This appointment expresses the state’s special recognition to out-of-state visitors who have contributed to the State of Arkansas or her people’s progress, enjoyment, or well-being.

The Arkansas Traveler is an honorary title bestowed on notable individuals who, through their actions, serve as official goodwill ambassadors for Arkansas’s US state.

The award was approved in a resolution by the Arkansas Legislature. The award was created in early 1941 with the first certificate granted May 20, 1941, to President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Before becoming President, Bill Clinton conferred the Arkansas Traveller title upon numerous individuals as well.

Among the different notable recipients, there are President Donald Trump, President Ronald Reagan, Muhammad Ali, Maya Angelou, or Steve Forbes.

This is the second time that Prof. Sir Manuel is appointed by the United States government.

In July 2020 he was appointed a Commissioned Kentucky Colonel, the highest honorary title bestowed by the Governor and the Secretary of State to recognize his remarkable accomplishments, contributions to Kentucky society, notable deeds, and outstanding service to the US nation.
